Responding to a query during a media conference, Mr Poojary said that despite having achieved substantially, the BJP could not convey the same to the voters, which ultimately led to failure in the ULB polls. However, he said that the same will not be repeated during the Assembly polls.
“The state government had brought about a number of reforms for the poor and farmer community. We have carried out large scale development in rural areas, addressing key issues like drinking water and roads. About 94,000 Panchayat members have been benefited by our honorary grants. Farmers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district have benefited by our Kumki reforms brought about recently too”, he said.
Hitting back at Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi campaigning in the state, Mr. Poojary said that all tainted people the Congressmen are referring to are out of the BJP now and it is the Congress which is currently carrying taints of corruption at national level.
