Addressing a news conference, Ms Thomas clarified that she has not jumped into any political wagon after quitting the KJP.
“Despite having an invitation from the Congress, I am yet to decide,” she said adding that from the day she joined the KJP, she spent most of the time settling the in fights rather than doing any constructive work.
“I joined the KJP only because of the kind of development that B S Yeddyurappa brought in the State. However, there exists a sense of authoritarianism in the party. Tickets have been given to candidates who are strangers to common man,” she said adding that she has decided to back Mr Lobo because he has done lot of work in the region as a Government officer and has proved himself as a non-corrupt official.
Coming down heavily on four times MLA N Yogish Bhat, Ms Thomas said that it was due to lackadaisical nature of Mr Bhat that Mangalore did not see the kind of development places like Shimoga, Bangalore and New Delhi saw.
