Addressing a press meet here on Thursday KRRS leader Shashidhar Rai said that the ties between the SDPI and the BJP was not a new phenomenon as the two have been ruling Savanur Gram Panchayat in Puttur taluk together since last GP elections.
“The secret understanding between these two open arch-rivals is very dangerous for the society as the success of both the communal outfits lies in social unrest and disharmony,” he said.
“The same PFI and SDPI activists, who had been raising loud voice against Sangh Parivar sponsored attack on cattle traders under the pretext of cattle trafficking, have now joined with the Sangh Parivar's political arm with the sole intention of defeating the Congress,” he alleged.
Lashing out at Puttur BJP candidate Sanjeeva Matandoor, Mr Rai said that people of the constituency should support the candidate of the Congress without giving way for division of secular votes. The SDPI will not hesitate to stoop to any level for the sake of money, he added.
