“Plans will be chalked out after holding district-level officials' meet so as to see to it that the situation does not go out of control,” he said.
Addressing a news conference in Mangalore on Saturday Mr Khader said that there is a need to spread awareness among people about epidemic diseases.
However warning the district medical officer of being responsible for any lapses or failure of his sub-ordinates in acting up to the situation, he said that the DMO will have to be constantly in touch with the private hospitals and get inputs with regard to number of epidemic cases admitted in their hospital.
He further said that he is going to have a discussion with the Chief Minister and see to it that the expenses of treatment for epidemic diseases even in private hospitals could be borne by the Government.
