
The body, which had remained untraced during search operation by local divers and five sleuths on Wednesday, was washed ashore at around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.
It was then taken to Wenlock Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
It could be recalled here that 25-year-old Mumtaz, a resident of Hidayat Nagar, Kallapu, near Ullal, had ended her life Wednesday afternoon by jumping into river Netravati after pushing two of her daughters down.
The bodies of Mumtaz and her youngest daughter Khatija Naifa were fished out of the river by the search team on the same day.
Police sources said that post-mortem was conducted on all the three, after which the bodies were handed over to the family members on Friday, to perform the last rites.
A mother of five, Mumtaz is said to have left behind three more children.
