The delegation urged to Minister to direct Karnataka government to simplify the process of obtaining seats in professional colleges for Non-resident Indians of south Indian state.
Khader Talapady, community leader, Abbas Uchil of Jamatual Falah, Riyadh unit, U N Ismail Uchil and Abdul Sattar Uchil were also part of the delegation.
In a memorandum forwarded to the Chief Minister through Mr Khader, the Forum demanded to ease the eligibility for government seats for the children of Karnataka based NRIs in such colleges.
The memorandum urged to take an immediate remedial action to bring parity between students of Karnataka who are residing in Karnataka and students who are studying abroad.
Explaining the current difficulties faced by the NRIs for their wards, the Form exhorted the government to redress by the way of proper amendments to the prevailing eligibility criteria so that the NRI students from Karnataka are given equal chance to enter the professional colleges in Karnataka under govt. seat quota in their home state
The minister assured the delegation to take necessary steps to fulfill their demands.
