Addressing mediapersons at a press conference here on Monday, Hameed said that the accusations made against him by Razia's brother Muhammed Haneef were false.
Hameed said that since both the parties have been pointing fingers at each other, it would prove beneficial to hand over the case to the CBI.
“We would like to see the real culprits caught. Hence, we urge that the case should be handed over to the CBI,” he said, adding that they were ready for a narco-analysis test in this regard.
In his defence with regard to the alleged assault on Haneef by Hameed and his brothers on Friday, he replied that the complaint registered against him at Kavoor police station was not true, and that they did not assault anyone
Razia and her 8-year-old daughter Fathima Zuha of Panjimogaru, Kavoor were murdered by unknown persons two years ago on June 28, 2011.
It can be recalled that Haneef had accused Hameed of pressurising and influencing police investigation with money power, in a press meet held recently by Razia's family members.
A year ago, the case was handed over to the CID and investigation is on-going.
Hameed's brother Mayyaddi was present.
