
The registration for Hajj-2013 started at a camp at at a camp at Old Terminal near Kenjaru, Bajpe here on Wednesday.
The process of registration launched with Ahmed Bava of Mulihithlu in Bolara getting his name registered for pilgrimage.
Dozens of volunteers were assisting the pilgrims in registration process.
Hajj operation from Mangalore is scheduled to commence from September 7 and Haj departures go up to September 9. The arrivals will start on October 20 and end on October 24.
Each day, 220 passengers are expected to depart/arrive at MIA. Air India is operating A-310 aircraft as it did last year and the old terminal building is being utilised for departure of Hajj pilgrims.
The camp was inaugurated with a prayer by Sirajuddin Sakafi, Khatheeb of Bajpe Juma Masjid.
State Wakf Board Member and Mangalore Hajj Management Committee President Yenepoya Muhammad Kunhi, Haneef Haji Bunder, M A Mahmood Haji, C Muhammad Haji, Fazal Haji Puttur, Rafeeq Haji Puttur, Bajpe Muhammad Haneef, Bajal Ahmed Bawa, Haji Basheer Ahmed, Azeez Baikampady, Riyazuddeen Haji, V Muhammad, office-bearers of State Hajj Committee Iqbal Mukaddam, Basha Muhammad and others were present on the occasion.
