Mangalore, Sep 10: In the backdrop of ambiguity persisting with regard to the 'Yettinahole project', Belthangady Taluk Hitarakshana Vedike (BTHV) has urged the state government to postpone the foundation stone laying ceremony for Yettinahole project, scheduled to be held on September 14.
In this regard, the Vedike President K Prathapa Simha Nayak has demanded the government to first hold briefing for the public about the project and then take up foundation laying ceremony.
"Let the government clarify doubts and fears of the people of the region," he said adding that Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera too has shown his concern by opposing the project.
He said that the district administration has to organise awareness programmes at places which will be affected by the project, clearly inform the people about the project, take people into confidence and take consent from them.
The members of the Vedike will meet all legislative, parliament members and Chief minister and submit a memorandum asking for an explanation about the Yettinahole project, he said.
