The rally is expected to attract about 1,000 people of different age groups. There will be three separate categories for ladies, gents and children.
The participants and visitors of the cycle rally ride will be entertained by music groups and traditional dance groups at the starting and finishing points and also at different places en route. To add more colour to the event the organizers are making arrangements to rope in celebrities.
Starting from Kudroli Temple Road, the rally will proceed through Lady Hill Circle, Lalbagh, Bejai main road, Jail Road, Pinto's Lane, Tejasvini Hospital, Bunts Hostel, PVS, Navabharath Circle and culminate at Canara High School. Cash awards worth Rs 25,000 await winners. All participants will be given Celebration Cycle Ride 2013 T-Shirt, participation medal and certificate.
The main objective of organizing such an event is to promote Mangalore Dasara and healthy lifestyle, said an organiser adding that the event will take the riders to some of the prominent landmarks of Mangalore so that they can get a glimpse of the rich heritage of the city.
The riders will be provided with water enroute and refreshments on finishing the race. Medical facility will be provided enroute by the medical partners of the event. Doctors/Nursing staff along with Ambulance will be stationed at the Start/Finish line and also at various points enroute to provide medical care for the Cycle riders.
