The Seer has vouched for a bypass road instead.
Addressing the reporters after visiting the area and holding meeting with the National Highway Santhrasthara Horata Samiti members, he said that the project if implemented in its present form will affect life and livelihood of thousands of people.
“We do not want roads, which will divide our villages into two. The authorities can go for a bypass road instead, which will reduce the magnitude of the affect drastically,” he said adding that he will hold discussions with the Central Minister for Roads and National Highway authorities too.
Samiti Honorary President Dr Prabhakar Bhat said that hundreds of houses, shops and buildings will be pulled down to make way for the road.
Is there Politics?
Surprisingly, when Dr Prabhakar Bhat was busy explaining to the Seer the affects of the project, the Seer questioned him'Politics Unta?' which means is there politics in this issue?
Responding to the same, Dr Bhat explained that the Samiti was apolitical with members from all walks of life and from various religions. “The aim of the Samiti is to only save Kalladka, without bringing in any politics or differences in between,” said Dr Bhat.
Office-bearers of the Samiti were present.
