Kasargod, Oct 4: Four persons allegedly belonging to an inter-State gang of burglars have been arrested on Thursday while planning to break into the houses of an industrialist and a contractor in the district.
The arrested have been identified as Ashraf, 28, and Khasim, 32, from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district, Shamsuddin, 35, a quarry owner from Ukkinadukka in the district, and Narayanan from Bangalore.
They were arrested at Kumbla.
The police led by Sibi Thomas, Circle Inspector, Kumbla first managed to trap Ashraf in a quarters at Ukkinadukka on Wednesday.
The others, who were found moving in a stolen SUV near Kasaragod a few days ago, were later nabbed from Seethangoli.
They have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
