Udupi: Miscreants attack three for trading cattle

Byndoor, Oct 8: Activists of a particular organization fatally assaulted three men who were transporting purchased cattle on October 6, at Kenji Bheemanapare in Heroor.

Samiullah (33) from Gangolli, Rizwan (25) and Mansoor (20), siblings from Halageri are the victims.

Junaid, Shahil and one more person have managed to escape the attack. The victims are undergoing treatment at Kundapur hospital.

They were transporting five cattle that they purchased for Rs 35,000 from one Puttanna from Kenji, in two vehicles, when 25 to 30 people affiliated to a particular organisation attacked them.

The victims were shifted to the hospital by the police who rushed to the spot. The attackers took away Rs 30,000 and a mobile from Samiulla and Rs 60,000 and two mobiles from Rizwan.

The attackers had also threatened the trio showing a pistol, said the victims.

As per the complaint lodged by the victims, cases were registered against 16 persons, of whom 8 have been nabbed. The eight were produced before the Court and released on bail.

Meanwhile a case has also been registered against six persons including Samiullah, Rizwan, Mansoor, Junaid, Shahil.

Five cattle and two vehicles have been seized by the police.
