Mangalore, Oct 9: A husband grieving over his wife's murder is all set to question the verdict of Vasai Sessions Court at the High Court.
Tharanath Shetty lost his wife Shalini Shetty four years ago when she was murder by his relative Ashok Shetty on May 3, 2011. Though Ashok shetty was arrested on the charges of murder the Court has acquitted him on the basis of lack of evidences.
Speaking about the same, Mr Tharanatha Shetty has said that he had traced the murderer of his wife and had gathered adequate evidences too.
"While I was sure that the verdict will be favourable, the sudden change of events has left me in a state of shock. I will contest this verdict at the High Court and seek justice," he said adding that it is disheartening to see cases fall flat when Court states lack of evidence to be a reason.
Recalling the murder scene, Mr Tharanatha Shetty said that the accused had come to his residence as guest but he instead made his wife to death to take away her gold.
"She was pregnant when the incident happened. On May 3, 2011 she had called me up and informed me about the visit of some guests. But when I reached home she was dead," he said adding that when he took up investigating the case from his end, the police threatened him.
"When I fought all odds and reached the culprit the verdict of the Court has dampened my spirits," he said with moist eyes.
