Mangalore, Oct 9: Every year October 9 is observed as the'world postal day'. While there are not much of celebrations attached to this day, South Kanara Photographers' Association Mangalore Zone ventured into making this less celebrated day a memorable one for as many as 20 Postmen and 3 women mail carriers of Kodialbail post office by felicitating them in recognition of their services.
The honours were done by Association President, Udupi Chapter Mr Vasudev Rao and Mangalore Chapter President Mr Chandrakanth N Vora, on Wednesday morning at Kodialbail post office.
Accepting the felicitation, Lohithaksha said that it has been a memorable day in his 27 years of service because never before was his service recognized in this manner.
“In fact, we have never celebrated the postal day. It was a great experience because I was feted for my work. This gesture has made us feel valued,” said Mr Lohithaksha.
Post Master Shakunthala too had a similar experience to share on being feted.
Office-bearers of the Association were present at the occasion.
