Ullal, Oct 12: In what can be billed as a major robbery, a sum of Rs 9.24 lac was stolen from a soap trading company named'Marcon Overseas', located at Kallapu, near Ullal on Thursday.
The partnership venture was partly owned by one Shakir Ahmed from Chembugudde and on Thursday he had kept the amount safely in the cupboard.
The thieves had gained entry into the building by breaking open the thick metal net of the window on Thursday night, opened the cupboard and took away Rs 9.24 lac. The thieves has first cut off the CCTV camera connection and executed the crime.
The police are suspecting a role of an insider in the theft.
Case has been registered.
