Mangalore, Oct 21: Nadiya, wife of Ajmal and resident of Kudroli was rescued by lifeguards at Panambur beach on Monday when she was allegedly attempting to commit suicide along with her infant.
Her six-month-old kid Haseeb died while she was fighting for survival after jumping into sea around 5.30 p.m. at Koorikatta near Baikampady.
Hailing from Kumbla-Arikkady Mavinakatte in Kasargod district, Nadiya is married to Ajmal of Kudroli, son of A R Abdurrahman five years ago.
The couple has an elder son who is three-year-old.
She has been admitted to AJ Hospital in the city and is battling for her life.
She took the extreme step following a tiff with her husband over a petty issue.
A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
