Mangalore: Associate Professor dies in road accident

Mangalore, Oct 22: Iqlas Ahmed, an Associate Professor in Fisheries College in the city was killed in a road accident near Jeppinamogaru arch on National Highway 66 on Monday evening.

55-year-old Iqlas Ahmed was going on his motorcycle to his house in Someshwar Uchil, riding behind a lorry going towards Thokkottu.

As the driver of the lorry applied brakes, Mr. Ahmed lost control over his vehicle and came under the wheels of the lorry. He died on the spot.

Mr. Ahmed is a faculty at the Fisheries college since 1985.

Mr. Ahmed had given a presentation about career in Fisheries to students.He is survived by wife and a son.
