Deputy Minister of Labor Mufarrej Al-Haqbani said that intensive inspection raids will be carried out across the Kingdom to catch the violators and punish them immediately after the end of the extended grace period.
“Punitive measures against the violators include imprisonment and fine for Saudi employers, and deportation and a ban on re-entry for foreigners,” he said.
Haqbani said that firms and companies will be allowed to exceed the percentage of foreigners during the grace period, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
“This was an exemption only for the grace period so as to facilitate and expedite the correction procedures for the maximum number of foreigners in a smooth way. This will not be applicable for issuing new employment visas,” he said, adding that such exemptions and conditions, which are specially designed for the grace period, will not be in force after its expiry.
According to Haqbani, the ministry has intensified its preparations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the regional governorates, to start inspection raids immediately after the expiry of the grace period.
As per the Cabinet decision, the ministry will be in charge of carrying out inspections.
