Bantwal, Nov 7: RSS head honcho Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has said that Manjunatha, the presiding deity of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala will have to inspire the CBI officials to conduct an unbiased and judicious inquiry into the rape and murder case of Saujanya and thereby render justice to the grieving family.
Addressing the reporters at Kalladka on Wednesday, he said that it is a tragedy that the authorities have not even subjected the accused to inquiry despite pressure mounting from various quarters.
“This attitude has fuelled suspicion. No matter who the guilty is, the inquiry must be conducted in a judicious manner and the guilty must be given stern punishment to set an example,” he said adding that the incident has dented the image of the district. The fact that the inquiry has not yet been held despite a year passing by is a shame, he opined and urged the government and the Judiciary to consider this as a serious case.
“Let the money and muscle power not affect the CBI probe. It would be incorrect if the politicians, religious heads and officials take this case lightly. Everybody has to understand the pain that a girl must have undergone and the pain the family of the victim continues to undergo. The ones resorting to such a heinous crime must remember their sisters and mothers,” he said and opined that evidences have been destroyed from the crime scene and a person has been randomly arrested in the case.
‘Gang of men killed her'
“Being a medical professional, even I feel strongly that the person who has been arrested has not executed the crime all alone. The act has been executed by a gang of men,” Dr Bhat said adding that though Kshethra Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade should have made way for inquiry much earlier, he should at least now pave way for judicious probe and clear the suspicion that has been shrouding him and his family.
