Mangalore, Nov 8: Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a stir demanding CBI probe into all the rape, murder and unnatural death cases that have occurred in Ujire police station limits from 1986 to 2012.
Madhuri Bolar of SFI Women's wing addressing the protesters during a rally outside DC's office on Thursday said that a woman was found dead in Ujire in 1987 under suspicious circumstances and following the demand by progressive organisations, the case was handed over to the CID. But, the agency failed to crack the case.
“Now government has recommended CBI probe in rape and murder case of PUC student of SDM, Ujire. But that is not sufficient because CBI probe must be held in every rape and murder case in Ujire Dharmasthala area,” she said.
“Murders had been executed in Ujire and Dharmasthal area for acquiring land from farmers. In some cases girls were raped and hanged. There must be CBI probes in every case recorded from 1986 to 2012,” urged, Jeevan Raj Kuttar of SFI state committee.
He said, politicians and elected representatives are busy managing temples, while temple authorities are busy running the government.
