Mangalore, Nov 8: With an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Dakshina Kannada BJP Yuva Morcha organised its first district party workers' meeting at the BJP office here on Friday.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurating the meet said that the Congress-led state government has implemented'shaadi bhagya' scheme to grab the votes of the minorities. He also criticised the anti-superstitions bill proposed by Siddaramaiah.
Speaking on the failure of Congress-led government at the Centre, he said that price hike and inflation are the proof for the failure of UPA government's ten-year governance.
“After UPA government came to power, PM Manmohan Singh was unable to defend the country from Chinese intrusion. The Naxal problem in the country has not receded, but is rising unchecked even in parts of Dakshina Kannada. There are chances of increase in bomb blasts in the country too and to prevent and protect the country, NDA government has to come to power and Narendra Modi should become the next prime minister,” he said.
Billing former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee as the most successful prime ministers of the country in the recent past, he said that if dream of building a great nation was to be fulfilled in the coming days, it could be done only by Narendra Modi.
Confident that the NDA government would come to power after the next elections, he said that a recently conducted survey showed that the BJP would gain the maximum number of seats in the Lok Sabha in the coming elections.
National secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha Vikas Puttur said that it was important for the party workers to serve the party and people, keeping aside their egos. “Across political parties, several youth in the country have already proclaimed 'Modi as PM'. The party workers have the responsibility of taking this mission forward,” he said, adding that there was a need and necessity for workers to also draw the common youth towards this goal.
He said that the Congress was bent on implementing anti-Hindu policies.
MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Yuva Morcha state vice-president Kishore Kumar, district president Ranjan Gowda, district vice-president Adarsh Shetty, Sanjeev Mathoor and others were present.
