Mangalore, Nov 11: Residents of Hosamane, Nadupalla, Brahmanara Kodi, Ambelottu and Thumbe Majalu of Kuppepadau village panchayats have given deadline of 10 days to the panchayat to clear off the mess on the connective roads and walkways within the villages.
They have said that if the panchayat fails to meet the demand then they will stage a day and night stir in front of panchayat office.
Ahmed Bava Nadupalla addressing a news conference on Monday said that the connective roads and walk ways in Kuppepadavu is in pathetic state because it has been smothered in squalor due to lack of maintenance.
“These roads connect the villages to the nearest town. However, the small eateries and hotels which have come up on the sides of the road have been dumping the food waste on the street creating a mess. The foul smell emanating from the waste has been causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also local residents,” he said adding that the 200 mts long road is also being used a urinals, adding to the problem.
Mr Bawa said that though the Panchayat had once promised to solve the problem within 2 months so far nothing has been done.
“Hence, we now give the panchayat the deadline of 10 days to put things in place. If our demand is not met, then we will stage a stir,” he said.
