Mangalore, Nov 12: Claiming that Hindu girls were being lured and misused in terror activities that occurred in the country, the district units of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal demanded that the state government and the central government take strict action against forces indulging in conversion of Hindu girls and curb terror activities.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference here on Tuesday, local convenor of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell said that although VHP and other organisational leaders had been continuously cautioning the state government that girls from the Hindu community were being pushed into terror activities through “love jihad”, the warnings remained unheeded. The state government did not take any measures to curb “love jihad” in spite of several instances that had taken place in the state, he said.
He claimed that the arrest and subsequent revelation of Aasha alias Ayisha Banu's identity and her involvement in the Patna bomb blast case was proof that Hindu girls were being dragged into terror activities. Hence, several youth are involved in luring innocent girls from the Hindu community through “love jihad” and getting them involved in terror activities. The state government should take immediate action and conduct a raid on what he dubbed as Islamic conversion centre in Ponnani, Kerala and rescue dozens of Hindu women who have been kept captive there, he demanded.
“As this is an issue of dire consequences, the central government should also ensure that such terror activities and exploitation of Hindu girls is curbed. Action should be taken against the forces behind the woman in question,” he said.
It may be recalled that although media reported the arrest of Aasha alias Ayesha Banu from Panjimogaru from Mangalore on Monday for having links with the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, there has been no confirmation from official sources or police authorities so far.
VHP leaders Gopal Kuthar and Jagadish Shenava and Bajrang Dal leaders Bhujanga Kulal and Punith Kumar were present in the press conference.
