Kaup, Nov 19: Terming the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narenra Modi's massive rallies as'street play' or'Dombarata' former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda said that the BJP has designed its own publicity machine but the fact is that no party can be strengthened through just rallies.
Addressing the reporters at the residence of JD(S) leader Vasanth Salian on Monday, he said that if rallies were the only factor contributing to a candidate's victory then everyone would have just held rallies all over the place.
Balloon called Modi
Billing off the Modi wave as a'balloon', Mr Gowda said that a balloon grows big when blown but it is a matter of fraction of second to blast it.
“Nobody can predict when this balloon called'wave of Modi' will blast,” he said adding that so far in the political history of India nobody has tasted victory by declaring the PM candidate beforehand. But, the BJP by doing so has translated its'voting gimmick' into action. However, the point to be noted here is that they themselves are not confident of victory.
Third Front
Stating that the Third Front will play a decisive role in the Indian politics in the days to come, Mr Gowda said that the key to success lies with the Third Front and not with the national giants like the Congress and the BJP.
Former Minister Vasanth V Salian, JD(S) District President Deviprasad Shetty among others were present.
