Hubballi, Mar 20: Activist and Samaj Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) founder-president S R Hiremath has warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would lose his credibility of fighting black money and corruption if a “corrupt” man like former Karnataka chief minister S M Krishna is inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The SPS has already approached the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money and is demanding inquiry into the accumulation of wealth by Mr Siddhartha.
In an additional letter dated February 2, 2017, the SPS had sought further investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the matter after its study team found that a major source Mr. Siddhartha’s wealth was allegedly the ill-gotten revenue generated from the fake stamp paper scam reported during Mr. Krishna’s tenure as CM.
The former Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who was the alleged main franchiser of this scandal in that State, is already in jail. But Mr. Siddhartha has not been named in any FIR despite the proof against him, Mr. Hiremath alleged. He added that they have also sent Mr Modi a 48-page documenton the alleged grabbing of 180 acres of forest land by Mr Siddhartha.
