Mysuru, May 12: United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) has identified Mysuru, which was recently adjudged the country’s third cleanest city, as one of the pilot cities for project titled ‘Sustainable Cities’ Integrated Approach’.
The cultural capital is the only city identified in the State while four other cities selected in the country are Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhopal and Jaipur.
A team from UNIDO was in the city recently to look into proposals for Mysuru. Some of the best practices of solid waste management in Mysuru helped pushing the city’s position in the ‘Swachh’ race.
