Doha, September 30: A blood donation camp was organised by the Qatar India Fraternity Forum (QIFF) on Saturday at the Blood Donor Center of Hamad Medical Center, here.
Speaking on the essence of donating blood, Dr. George Mathew, Chief Medical Officer of KIMS Qatar Medical Center, urged the participants to spread greater awareness on the issue. He also conveyed the various ways in which each unit of blood donated would be used.
He also enlightened the gathering on the various eating habits that promoted blood formation and on the scarce blood types.
The event was coordinated by the staff of Hamad Medical Center. Around 150 blood donors were present on the occasion.
Zafar Ahmed, President of QIFF, welcomed the gathering, while Ayoob Ullal, event coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks.
