Preparations in full swing for Tuluvere Parba 2012 in Dubai

Dubai, October 1: Preparations are in full swing for Tuluvere Parba 2012, a day-long cultural extravaganza depicting traditions of Tulunadu, which will be held on October 5 at the football grounds of Indian High School, Oud Mehta Road in Dubai. It is being organised by Nama Tuluveru UAE, a charity-based organisation in UAE.


Fr Marcel Saldanha, Parish Priest at St. Monica Church, Kumbla, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The stage has been set for the festival with members of Nama Tuluveru UAE combined with the strength of various community organisation members fully rehearsing for the event and getting prepared to present their community cultural activities as well as savour their homely made variety of mouthwatering dishes to the invitees.

Bhajiya, charmburi, biscuit rotti, pundi, maalpuri, pathradya, patholi, dhal thove, kaaydhappa, kalthappa, koli molagu charu, thekkare, kori rotti, kori sukka, marvai pundi, neer dose, chicken biriyani, meen pulimunchi, king fish masala, gujje kadle, ganghi, balyar chatni, yetti sukka, idli-vada, kori urwal, meen ghasi, nungel meen chatni, idli, dal chal, samosa, ney chor, maasadha kajipu,, sheer khurma, majjige, bonda, semige per and kheer are some of the variety foods that will be served in the stalls put up by various community organisations.


Tiger dance will be one of the special attractions of the festival along with 'Yakshagana' ballet, music orchestra, a variety of folk dances, classical dances, Daff dance, Catholic marriage band, fashion show and others.


Other than variety entertainment, there will be release of 'Appe Bhaashe' Tulu script and also announcement of a new Tulu feature film title which will be entirely shot in various locations in UAE with local artistes who have been auditioned and selected.


The festival will start at 9 am ending with a raffle draw. On the occasion, a blood donation unit will arrive at 3 pm from Latifa Blood Donation Centre, Dubai, which will operate for four hours within the premises of the school for those who wish to donate blood.
