EIFF hold campaign to make use of Amnesty

Dubai, Feb 20: Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF) conducted a massive campaign among the expatriates in the U.A.E with theme ‘Be loyal to UAE, make use of Amnesty’ recently. The volunteers of EIFF managed to meet more than 20,000 people during the programme and distributed pamphlets in areas like Bur Dubai, Deira, Karama, Al Quoz, Jebel Ali, Satwa, Sonapur, Musaffah, Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Special attention was given to visit labor camps, restaurants, groceries, bus stations, masjids, churches etc. to educate the illegal immigrants to utilize the benefits offered by the Government of UAE.

The campaign which went on for 10 days had  volunteers to meeting the public and involving in activities such as door-to-door visits, distribution of pamphlets in 6 languages (English, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil), conveying directions to service centers and immigration offices and providing legal consultation.

The team handled more than 100 cases which had people from various countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Arab expats.  There were more than 1,000 enquires received by the team and they managed to guide most of them and in some cases also took them personally to the designated areas.

There were also public programs held in this regard and Advocate Mr. Umer Farooq explained the legal aspects of Amnesty. All the authorities appreciated this noble gesture of EIFF and supported whole-heartedly during this campaign.

The entire team of EIFF would like to take this opportunity to thank the rulers of United Arab Emirates for being very kind towards the illegal expat community and providing them a chance to legalize their stay in the country.
