Kasargod, Nov 22: Prohibition was enforced anticipating violence at the Mannarkad taluq till December 5. The development comes following inhuman clashes between two rival Sunni sects which resulted in the brutal murder of two brothers at Kanhirapuzha near Mannarkad.

A tense situation prevailed in the area where activists allegedly belonging to AP and EK groups of Sunnis involved in violent clashes a couple of days ago.
Meanwhile, police arrested two persons identified as P Abdul Jaleel and Ameer over the murder of the brothers.
The murdered brothers were identified as Kunhu Hamza alias Hamza and Nooruddeen, the children of the late Mohammed Haji of Pallath veetil Kalankuzhi in Kanhirapuzha. Their relative Kunhan alias Kunhu Mohammed has been admitted with serious injuries to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.
The incident occurred last Wednesday night when the members of the rival sect attacked them with knives and other sharp-edged weapons at Kalankuzhi in Kanhirapuzha. The police said that the animosity related to the collection of funds from the public at a local mosque which was objected by another sect who complained to the Kerala Wakf tribunal.
