Bengaluru, Mar 5: Kannada movie start Upendra, who recently took a political plunge by formally (re)launching Karnataka Pragnyavanta Janatha Party (KPJP), is now facing threat of ouster from the party from its real founder Mahesh Gowda!
According to reports, a difference of opinion has sprung up inside the KPJP over the selection of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.
Though most of the people believe that that KPJP was founded by Upendra, the party was actually registered with the Election Commission in 2015 by Mr Gowda, an industrialist. Being an ardent fan of Upendra, he had almost gifted the party to Upendra, who (re)launched it formally on October 31, 2017.
However, now Mr Gowda and many other party leaders are reportedly upset with the dictatorial attitude of Upendra and they're unhappy with his working style. Mr Gowda has claimed that Upendra sidelined him from party programmes.
The KPJP core committee has called for a meeting on Monday evening to address the issue. Sources inside the party claim that Upendra is likely to be ousted from the party as many members are upset with his attitude.
