Mangaluru Jun 20: “Voluntary Service Organizations should conduct environment protection awareness camps periodically and create environment protection awareness and importance among the public in general and among students in particular” opined P. Sridhar, Range Forest Officer and President State Range Forest Officers Association. He was speaking as a chief guest on the “World Environment Day” observed by the Rotary Club Mangalore City on 19.06.2019 at Hotel Ocean Pearl Hall.
He further assured that Forest Department will extend full co-operation in this direction and implementation of the projects.
President of Rotary Club Mangalore City Rtn. Dr. Ranjan in his address stressed the importance of World Environment Day and advised all the members to plant minimum 10 sapling in the region to mark this occasion.
As a part of clubs vocational service project eminent Environmentalist and Green Revolutionist Mr. Jeeth Milan Roche was conferred with the Rotary’s prestigious “Preserve Planet Earth Award” in recognition of his selfless and invaluable service rendered in the field of Green Revolution in the District.
Responding to the felicitation he assured to plant one lakh saplings in the city within this year. Cedric D’Souza delivered the felicitation address, Clubs Vocational Service Director Rtn. Dr. Anil Kumar, Community Service Director Rtn. Mrs. Saritha D’Souza, Secretary Rtn. Prashanth Rai where present on the dais. Rtn. Dr. Rohan Monis proposed a vote of thanks.
