Mangaluru, Oct 27: The Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the premier military operated intelligence service of Pakistan, has set up new sleeper cells in Mangaluru city and other parts of coastal Karnataka according to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a press meet at the party office in the city on Tuesday a local BJP leader claimed that the National Investigation Agency also had confirmed that the ISI sleeper cells were active in Mangaluru, which is one of the strategic port cities of India.
Umanath Kotian, the vice president, of the Dakshina Kannada district unit of BJP, also pointed out that a Kannada newspaper had linked the Moodbidri Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary murder case to ISI and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
He said that the rampant attacks targeting Sangh Parivar activists in coastal Karnataka in recent months also prove this claim.
Demand for CBI probe
Accusing Abhaychandra Jain, the Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports, of supporting the killers of Prashant Poojary and trying to cover up the case, Mr Kotian demanded the state government to handover Prashant Poojary murder case to Central Bureau of Investigation without delay.
He said that a delegation along comprising the family members of the victim would soon call on Governor Vajubai Rudabai Vala to press for the CBI probe.
He lamented that even though the UP CM Akhilesh has promised Rs 45 lakh compensation to the family members of Dadri lynching victim, Karnataka government was hesitating to fulfill the demand for Rs 25 lakh compensation to the Moodbidri victim.
