Mangaluru, Oct 27: Activists of Democratic Youth Federation of India has staged demonstration in front of the office of Mangaluru City North MLA Mohiuddin Bava accusing him of sidelining two unsolved murder cases.

The protesters were demanding speedy investigation into four year old Panjimogaru double murder case and two year old Rajesh Poojary murder case that have remained undetected.
Speaking on the occasion, Muneer Katipalla, DYFI Karnataka state president, said that Mr Bava was always busy in unwanted things but as far as people’s work is concerned he slept like Kumbhakarna.
Mr Katipalla recalled that before being elected as MLA of the constituency, Mr. Bava participated in the demonstration demanding arrest of persons involved in the murder of 35-year-old woman and her daughter in Panjimogaru in June, 2011.
“Mr. Bava then had accused the Criminal Investigation Department, which had been entrusted with investigation, of not finding the persons involved in the murder and had sought an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths,” he said.
Mr. Katipalla said since getting elected Mr. Bava had not spoken a word about the case nor had he reiterated the demand. Similarly, the CID had failed to arrest persons involved in the murder of Rajesh Poojary in Bantwal two years ago. As many as 10 criminal cases relating to district had remained unsolved, he said.
He said Mr. Bava should put pressure on the State government to set up a special police team for cracking the undetected cases.
