Bangalore, Sep 2: Police issued another notice to Karthik Gowda, son of railway minister DV Sadananda Gowda, to appear by Wednesday before the RT Nagar police, who are investigating a complaint of rape against him.

The complaint was lodged by a 27-year-old Sandalwood star last week. She had alleged that Karthik had married her against her wishes and raped her. RT Nagar police had on Friday issued a notice to Karthik to appear before them on Monday, but he failed to turn up. They had pasted a notice on the door of the minister's Sanjaynagar residence.
Meanwhile, the actor on Monday gave a statement under Section 164 CrPC before a magistrate on Monday. The statement is required under law for rape survivors, which states: any metropolitan magistrate or judicial magistrate may, whether or not he has jurisdiction in the case, record any statement in the course of an investigation under this chapter or under any other law for the time being in force
