Bengaluru, Dec 6: The Bengaluru Police on Thursday ruled out possibility of any sabotage in the the cylender blast at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), in which a research researcher died on the spot and three others seriously injured.
The 32-year-old research engineer Manoj Kumar died and three others sustained serious injuries in the blast that took place in IISc's Aerospace Engineering Department’s Laboratory for Hypersonic and Shock Wave Research laboratory.
Police said that the four M.Tech students, internees with Superwave Technology Private Limited, were handling pressurized hydrogen, oxygen, helium and nitrogen gases when the mishap took place.
Mr Manoj Kumar, a native of Mysuru, who was standing close to the hydrogen cylinder which allegedly burst and he was thrown to the wall and died instantly.
