Mangaluru, Oct 22: In light of the flower vendor-cum-Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary's murder in Moodbidri, the police department is targeting innocent Muslim youth on pressure from the Sangh Parivar, alleged Popular Front of India (PFI) Dakshina Kannada district committee, condemning the same.

According to a release issued by the PFI DK district committee, several aspects with regard to the murder have come to the forefront in media and among the public, especially that the deceased Prashant had internal altercations with other activists in the saffron organisation. It was also rumoured that there was an internal rivalry between Bajrang Dal and Rama Sene on the issue of hafta collection and extortion.
The PFI has alleged that the police has solely targeted Muslim youth in the murder case without bothering to look into the truth of these allegations. They have used Muslim youth as scapegoats as a result of continuous pressure from Sangh Parivar and BJP state and national leaders, the committee alleged.
The PFI urged an unbiased probe in this regard and arrest the real culprits in the murder case.
