Udupi, Mar 27: A former employee of Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes has threatened to stage a hunger protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru from April 2 demanding his pending salaries.

Gopal Poojary, who worked in Fernandes' house for more than 15 years, told media persons here that the veteran politician committed a criminal breach of trust and snatched his rights.
“I worked at Oscar's house and Manipal workshop from 1972 to 1987 and I should be paid Rs 6.07 lakh. But Oscar has washed off his hands by paying mere Rs 10,000,” he revealed.
Poojary said he had approached Sonia Gandhi in 1995 and she had told Oscar to pay the remaining amount. However, he did not, he said.
"I will starve until death if Oscar does not pay me the pending salary. I have written a letter to Oscar with details of 15 years' salary and the letter by the labour officer 15 days ago. A copy is sent to the district in-charge minister, chief minister, KPCC president and the DC," he claimed.
However, Oscar's PA Nagesh Udyavar rubbished the charge saying it's all common in election time.
