Mangaluru, Jan 7: Launching another tirade against Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa in reciprocation of his scathing attack on veteran Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojary, the latter said that the behaviour of Thimmappa did not bring honour to the Congress government which had appointed him as the Speaker of the House.

He stressed that the people expected the assembly speaker to perform his duties without discrimination. The Rules of Procedure apply to every member of the Assembly including the Speaker, he said, adding that Thimmappa was violating the rules of procedure by making uncharacteristic allegations on the functioning of the government.
œIt is your duty to ensure proceedings are held smoothly. Do you have the authority to censor the government? How can you disregard the dignity of your position? he demanded, directing his censure at Thimmappa.
Deriding the Speaker for claiming not to know Janardhan Poojary, the latter remarked that Thimmappa had probably undergone loss of memory.
District party members K Taranath Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal, Vijaykumar Shetty and others were present.
