
Bantwal, Sep 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the only person to have become a household name after Mahatma Gandhi, said Mysore-Kodagu constituency MP Pratap Simha, addressing the gathering at Janadesha 2014' programme held in Shriram First Grade College at Kalladka in Bantwal taluk on Wednesday.
Delivering a special lecture on the occasion, he said that the entire world was looking at Modi's foresight with awe. Building good relations with scientifically developed countries such as Japan is proof of this, he said.
He said that the present union government led by Modi had a total of 62 MPs belonging to the Dalit community, with the objective of giving equal opportunities to all.
He said that Modi was striving to provide job opportunities for youth in the employment sector in the country along with making them self-dependent. “We all need to join hands in order to fulfill the vision of Modi who has the dream of building a country with respect worthy of its resources and culture,” he said.
Convenor of the institution Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka made the introductory remarks. President of the institution's management board B Narayana Somayaji presided over the programme.
Principal of the college Krishnaprasad Kayarkatte welcomed the gathering, while Kannada lecturer Yathiraj proposed a vote of thanks.
