Mangalore, Jan 6: District-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai released a book 'Envisioning a Green World' written by Steven David at a press conference at Deputy Commissioner's office here on Monday.
The book narrates a public administrator's take on a public interest project of Pilikula Nisargadhama near Moodushedde on the outskirts of Mangalore city.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rai told reporters that Pilikula Nisargadhama would soon have an 'urban eco-park' to be set up on 10 acres plot of land by the Department of Environment. A plot of 10 acres has been earmarked near the science block in the biological park. The park will conserve and exhibit endangered tree species. It will introduce the next generation and children to the world of forests and environmentalism, he said.
Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department and district-in-charge secretary Bharat Lal Meena, the then-deputy commissioner of the district, and the present deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim were present on the occasion.
