Mangaluru, Nov 6: A fish laden lorry rammed into an auto-rickshaw claiming the life of its driver on National Highway 66 at Uchilagudde near Ullal in Mangaluru taluk in the early hours of Friday.
The victim has been identified as Mohammed Rafeeq (45) from Gurupur, who was staying in a rented house at KC Road, Talapady.
It is learnt that he was operating his auto rickshaw from Someshwar railway station and used to park his rickshaw there early morning every day.
On Friday when he was going towards Someshwar at around 4:30 a.m. a fish laden lorry rammed into Rafiq’s three-wheeler. The lorry was plying towards Kasaragod from Mangaluru.
The reckless driving on part of lorry driver is said to be the reason for the tragedy.
Rafeeq was the only bread winner of his poor family. He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters.
