Lucknow, Jan 11: Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), the Muslim wing of RSS has taken up a nationwide campaign to convince madrasas across the country to celebrate the Republic Day by hoisting the tricolour on January 26 in their campus.

Meanwhile, Darul Uloom Deoband which has already suggested all madrasas to hoist tricolour asked the RSS hoist the national flag at its headquarters in Nagpur.

The MRM’s campaign for tricolour in madrasas has been named 'Jhanda Falani', said UP co-ordinator of MRM Merajidhwaj Singh. RSS central functionary Indresh Kumar is MRM's national coordinator.

"The campaign is being carried out throughout the country," said Singh. "MRM is also going to write letters to Islamic seminaries Darul Uloom Deoband and Nadwa, requesting them to make members of the community aware about the significance of national festivals like the Republic Day," added Singh.

Darul Uloom Deoband for its reaction to the MRM's move, its press secretary Maulana Ashraf Usmani said: "Does the RSS hoist the tricolour at its offices or its headquarters at Nagpur? Does the RSS' basic ideology believe in the national anthem?"

"Several madrassas through the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Deoband's social chapter, not only hoist the Tricolour, most of them observe a holiday during national festivals like Republic Day and Independence Day," Maulana Usmani said.

Singh, who is also an RSS pracharak, said: "RSS offices are mainly used as residence for its workers, who attend functions at schools, colleges and other places during such national festivals where they take part both in celebrations as well as hoisting of the tricolour."

MRM volunteers are also visiting madrassas as part of their Republic Day celebrations campaign. "The campaign is a bid to create a deep feeling for the country, which comes before religion. The aim is to mark the celebration and ensure everyone's involvement. Celebrating Republic or Independence Day has nothing to do with religion," Singh said.

"MRM is an organisation for Muslims and of Muslims and hence it has taken up the mission of 'Jhanda Falani'," he added.

On January 20 and 21, MRM will convene the meeting of its national working committee in Varanasi to take stock of the campaign and list out madrassas that have not been covered.

RSS & Hindu Fascists neither recognise nor respect National Flag, National Anthem and Supreme Constitution of India. We Muslims need not learn lessons of patriotism from these pseudo nationalists and pseudo religionists. After all Indian Tricolor was designed by a Muslim woman SURAIYA TAYYABJI wife of Badruddin Tayyabji from Hyderabad.
Let this bone licking MRM first ask their Chaddi bosses to respect India.

Nobody has the right to impose any thing on others life.
Advising is acceptable.

RSS, you need to practice what you say. Set an example.
don't preach, just preach by practicing and setting as example.

Which Equality you are talking.
- Killing, troubling the minorities in the name of religion,
- Asking them to follow your religion ELSE telling them to go to Pakistan.

Remember, Desh bhakthi, patriotism is coming from the heart.
A real Muslim, he knows he has to be loyal to his country.

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru CEN police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly posting provocative and misleading content on an Instagram page named “mr_a_titude”, targeting the Bajpe police.

Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H identified the arrested as Abhishek M, a resident of Katipalla in Mangaluru.

A case has been registered at the Bajpe Police Station under Sections 353(1)(c), 353(2), 56, and 57 read with Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the post.

According to police, the accused uploaded a photograph of a hotel on the Instagram page and alleged that accused persons in a murder case under the Bajpe police jurisdiction were being given “royal treatment” by the police, including being served beef meals daily from the hotel.

The post further accused the police of supporting criminals, misusing their authority, and betraying public trust. Police said the content was provocative in nature and aimed at inciting public outrage against the police.

Following the post, a case was registered at the Bajpe police station, and further investigation was transferred to the CEN police station.

Police records indicate that the accused has a criminal history, with multiple cases registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder, assault, and robbery at the Surathkal Police Station, and one case at the Kaup Police Station.

Mangaluru, Dec 16: The Mangaluru City police have significantly escalated their campaign against drug trafficking, arresting 25 individuals and booking 12 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act between November 30 and December 13. The crackdown resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illicit substances, including 685.6 grams of MDMA and 1.5 kg of ganja.

The success of this recent drive has been significantly boosted by the city’s innovative, QR code-based anonymous reporting system.

"The anonymous reporting system has received an encouraging response. Several recent arrests were made based on inputs received through this system, helping police tighten the noose around drug peddlers," said the City Police Commissioner.

The latest arrests contribute to a robust year-to-date record, underscoring the police's relentless commitment to combating the drug menace.

Up to December 14 this year, the police have registered a total of 107 cases of drug peddling, leading to the arrest of 219 peddlers. Furthermore, they have booked 562 cases of drug consumption, resulting in the arrest of 671 individuals.

The scale of the seizure for the year reflects the magnitude of the problem being tackled: police have seized 320.6 kg of ganja worth ₹88.7 lakh and 1.4 kg of MDMA valued at ₹1.2 crore. Other significant seizures include hydro-weed ganja worth ₹94.7 lakh and cocaine worth ₹1.9 lakh, among others.

The Commissioner emphasized a policy of rigorous enforcement: "We ensure that peddlers are caught red-handed so that they cannot later dispute the case or claim innocence."

To counter the rising trend of substance abuse among youth, the Mangaluru City police have rolled out uniform guidelines for random drug testing across educational institutions.

As part of the drive, tests were conducted in approximately 100 institutions, screening an estimated 5,500 to 6,000 students in the first phase. 20 students tested positive for drug consumption during the initial screening.

Students who tested positive have been provided counselling and are scheduled for re-testing in the second quarter. The testing will also be expanded to students not covered in the first phase. In a move to ensure strict implementation, police personnel were deployed in mufti in some institutions. Reiterating a zero-tolerance stance, the Commissioner confirmed that random testing will continue, and colleges have also been instructed to conduct drug tests at the time of admission to deter substance abuse from an early stage.

Mangaluru: In a decisive move to tackle the city’s deteriorating sanitation infrastructure, the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has announced a massive ₹1,200 crore action plan to overhaul its underground drainage (UGD) network.

The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV, aims to bridge "missing links" in the current system that have left residents grappling with overflowing sewage and environmental hazards.

The Breaking Point

The announcement follows a high-intensity phone-in session on Thursday, where the DC was flooded with grievances from frustrated citizens. Residents, including Savithri from Yekkur, described a harrowing reality: raw sewage from apartments leaking into stormwater drains, creating a "permanent stink" and turning residential zones into mosquito breeding grounds.

"We are facing immense difficulties due to the stench and the health risks. Local officials have remained silent until now," one resident reported during the session.

The Strategy: A Six-Year Vision

DC Darshan HV confirmed that the proposed plan is not a temporary patch but a comprehensive six-year roadmap designed to accommodate Mangaluru’s projected population growth. Key highlights of the plan include:

•    Infrastructure Expansion: Laying additional pipelines to connect older neighborhoods to the main grid.

•    STP Crackdown: Stricter enforcement of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) regulations. While new apartments are required to have functional STPs, many older buildings lack them entirely, and several newer units are reportedly non-functional.

•    Budgetary Push: The plan has already been discussed with the district in-charge minister and the Secretary of the Urban Development Department. It is slated for formal presentation in the upcoming state budget.
