Mangaluru, Jun 24: More than three months after a prominent RTI activist was brutally murdered in the coastal city, the police on Thursday filed a 770-page chargesheet at the Third JMFC court here in the case.

The chargesheet filed under Section 302 of IPC mentions Naresh Shenoy alias NaMo Naresh as the prime accused, who is absconding.
The police have so far arrested six persons pertaining to the murder of the RTI activist. The last arested was Srikant, 42, son of Aithappa Mulya and resident Kavoor. He is accused of mediating between Naresh Shenoy and the three arrested persons, who were hired for murder of Vinyak Baliga.
52-year-old RTI activist Vinayak Baliga was brutally murdered near his house at Kodialbail in the city in the wee hours on March 21. The police have already arrested Vineet Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shiva alias Shivaprasad, Shailesh and K Manjunath Shenoy, who has been released on bail.
Police have also formed special teams to trace Naresh Shenoy and other accused persons who are reportedly absconding.
