Kozhikode, Dec 22: Mangaluru-based philanthropist and realtor S M Rashid Haji has been honoured by Markaz Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya (Sunni Cultural Centre), Karanthur in Kozhikode with an award.
The Special Service and Leadership Award was conferred on Mr Rasheed Haji in recognition of his social service during the 37th anniversary and 17th convocation of the Markaz held recently at its campus.
Mr Rasheed Haji, the founder of SMR Group has been serving in various philanthropic and service-oriented organizations. He is also the chairman of Dakshina Kannada district Wakf Advisory Committee.
The anniversary and convocation event of Markaz witnessed a series of programmes participated by international religious leaders and representatives from various political parties.
Markaz general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar was present on the occasion among others.
