Mangalore, October 3: Well-known South Indian Sunni scholar Kalambadi Muhammad Musliyar died at a private hospital in Perinthalmanna on Tuesday afternoon. His body was buried at Kalambadi in Malappuram on Wednesday morning.

 

78-year-old Musliyar was rushed to the hospital Monday night following a heart attack.

 

He was the President of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, the religious organisation of E. K. Sunni faction Muslim scholars and clerics from September 2004 until his demise.

 

Kalambadi Usthad was born to the family of orthodox Muslim in kalambadi. After the primary studies in native land, he went to Baqiyathu Swalihath, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. After being graduated from the religious institution of Baqiyath, he returned to the native land and carried on the educational field for years.

 

He was elected to the Advisory Council of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama during the early period of 1978 and was elected as president in 2004 after the tenure of Sayyid Abdurrehman Imbichikoya thangal-al-azhari (1995–2004).
