Mangalore, Feb 15: The Department of History of St. Aloysius College organised a two-day national level seminar 'Dakshina Kannada after 1947' from February 14 to 15, 2014.
The guest of honour was Dr A M Narahari, Registrar of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore and the Chief Guest, Dr. Surendra Rao, the Former Chairman, Dept of History and Research, Mangalore University, who gave the keynote address stressing on the development of Dakshina Kannada with the help of mass participation.
In his presidential address, Fr. Swebert D'Silva S.J. said that the economy and education had developed tremendously since the 1947 but the communal tension in the region was drawback in Dakshina Kannada.
