Brahmavar, Nov 23: A news that a lady from Brahmavar has been in touch with the terror accused has sparked a sense of fear among the local residents in Brahmavar.
A section of the local media has alleged that a lady named Yashodha Poojary (35) hailing from Sasthana-Pandeshwara has connect with the terrorists. Though there have been no reports from the police or no evidences to substantiate the same, the rumour mills have been spinning.
Yashodha Poojary was married to a man named Manjunath in Theerthahalli, but after a brief period of marriage she returned to her maternal aunt's home as she was expecting a baby.
According to the family members of her deceased husband, during this period she had developed contacts with the terror suspects.
They said that two years ago Yashodha's husband died in a mysterious circumstance, following which she went to her mother's house in Pandeshwara. She sold off all the property that her parents owned in Pandeshwara and started staying at a place called Gundmi near Sasthana. However, she never stayed at one place for long as she shifted to Mabukal, then to a rented house near Brahmavar Krishi Kendra and then to Uppinakote where she started a beauty parlour.
A month ago, Yashodha shifted into an apartment at Brahmavar along with her son, Vedanth who was studying at a private school in Brahmavar. The son has been admitted by her to a school at Kota recently.
However, the local police have made it clear that they will not take any action based on baseless reports of media.
Yashodha rubbishes allegation
Expressing shock over the media reports, Yashodha Poojary has termed the allegations against him as a conspiracy by her deceased husband's family members.
“I have a 12-year-old son, whose upbringing is my responsibility. I am really shocked when I came to know about these romours and baseless reports” she told media persons in Udupi.
“Some reports have alleged that I had contact with terror suspect Yasin Bhatkal. I am really hurt by such allegations. I do not know any such person,” she said.
She said that after the death of her husband, who allegedly committed suicide after leaving behind a death note in 2011, his family members held her responsible for the death.
“My husband's family held me responsible for my death. I came out clean. But they never stopped harassing me. This time they have made a new plan and alleged me of having contact with terrorist,” she said adding that media too supported them by publishing baseless reports against her.
