Dubai, Feb 26: Abdul Wahid Siddibapa, who allegedly has links with Yasin Siddibapa and who was detained two months ago by Dubai police on charges of funding terrorists has been released on bail.
Indian Intelligence agencies could not provide Dubai police any substantial evidence against him, a section of the media reported quoting sources close to the family.

Dubai police had granted 40 days' time to Indian ATS for producing evidences to convict him but they had to release Abdul Wahid as ATS failed to produce the same, sources said. Dubai police has taken passports of his close relatives into their custody as an assurance, a source said.
Mansoor Kola, father-in-law of Abdul Wahid Siddibapa, had said, “When he doesn't even have the money to put food on the table for his family, where will he get the money to fund terror activities here.”
Though Mr. Siddibapa is a distant relative -cousins twice removed - of Yasin Bhatkal, the alleged founder of IM, Mr Kola insisted that there was no constant line of contact between the two
Mr. Siddibapa had moved to Dubai around a decade ago, and had been married for the past seven years. “He was doing small jobs there, and had barely enough to feed the family that included three children,” Mr Kola had said.
The accused was described an orphan who suffered from a speech impediment. “His family comes from extreme poverty, and for a long time he had to take care of his younger siblings who are here,” he said.
It may be noted that earlier too, Abdus Samad Siddibapa, who hails from Bhatkal, was arrested by Bangalore police and later released for want of evidence.
